The new version of the avast review windows is fresh and clean, with sections devoted to each of the tools in the suite. However, the huge amount of white space has led to some features being hidden. The homepage offers you quick shortcuts to run scans or turn on the VPN for example and there are some links to some not-very-useful optimization tools for your system, too however, the majority of the features of the program are hidden in the Explore tab. Installation is smooth and easy and you’re not pressured into upgrading; although the initial scan will show “advanced issues” that will only be solved with a premium membership. This is a problem that Which? addressed in its report for 2020.
