Torna il Record store day, una giornata per celebrare i negozi di dischi indipendenti. Nel 2025 sarà festeggiato il 12 aprile.

l Record store day ricorda il valore dei negozi di dischi indipendenti. La giornata fu istituita da Chris Brown, un impiegato in un negozio di dischi statunitense, nel 2007 e l’iniziativa fu subito accolta da tutti gli statunitensi.

Nel 2024 la giornata ha avuto un respiro internazionale e fu utilizzata per promuovere nuove uscite discografiche. L’ambassador globale dell’evento è stata Taylor Swift che ha dichiarato:

«Sono molto orgogliosa di essere l’ambasciatrice del Record Store Day di quest’anno. I luoghi in cui andiamo a curiosare, esplorare e scoprire musica nuova e vecchia sono sempre stati sacri per me.»

Il Black Friday del Record Store Day

Le uscite della 15esima edizione del RSD

Nella quindicesima edizione i fan del RSD aspettano la prima pubblicazione su CD e vinile dei primi EP di David Bowie: Brilliant Adventure e Toy. Per gli amanti del rock  Lou Reed con la sua testimonianza unica in I’m So Free: The 1971 RCA Demos. 

Troviamo anche i Red Hot Chill Peppers con Unlimited Love, nuovo album che per l’occasione sarà disponibile in un formato speciale con i due vinili d’argento. Inoltre, sempre per il rock, ci sarà anche il debutto da solista di Kirk Hammett, cantante dei Metallica, con il suo brano Portals.Per la categoria del jazz Now I Will Lose You di Chet Baker ed Ennio Morriconedallo storico album registrato a Roma nel 1962.

In totale, le uscite previste per il 22 aprile sono circa 300, tra cui:  Blur the Special Collectors Edition, una raccolta dei primi tre album in studio della band, David Byrne The Catherine Wheel, per la prima volta in vinile l’intera colonna sonora che David Byrne preparò per lo spettacolo della coreografa Twyla Tharp nel 1981; Duran Duran con Rio Carnival, la band riunisce per la prima volta brani i brani dei vari Carnival EP, riproponendo alcuni dei maggiori successi in chiave Night Version e Carnival Remix.

Per gli amanti del cantautorato c’è anche un rimasterizzazione di Fabrizio de Andrè con Periodo Karim, un set di 45 giri che restaura il suono delle prime registrazioni della carriera di Faber.

L’evento cerca di abbracciare tutti i gusti musicali e promuovere la musica come fenomeno culturale e di massa.
